少し前になるが、騒音暴露実験用にYAMAHAのP7000Sという高出力のパワーアンプを使用したことがあり、その回路にEEEngine採用と書いてあったので興味があり少し調べたので記してみる。
アンプのタイプには、A級、B級、AB級、D級、G/H級と様々なタイプがあり、EEEngineはそれらを組み合わせるタイプの回路になる。YouTubeに回路動作時の波形を記録した動画があり、それを見ると一目瞭然である。
出力を追随しながら電源電圧をスイッチングすることで消費電力を下げることができる。

探すとサービスマニュアルもあって、自作で同じような回路を試している人達もいるようである。T5Nも同様の回路を採用しており、比較的見やすいので上げてみる。 右上がスイッチングの部分で、電圧生成にシャントレギュレータ(NJM431)を使用するのはパワーアンプではあまり見かけないが、そういうのもありなのかと思わせる回路である。
公式のホワイトペーパのみだとわかりにくい。

Most estimators get the scale wrong but the relative estimates right.
